on Highway 55 approximately 45 miles of Minneapolis and 35 miles southeast of St. Cloud. Maple Lake
High School is a relationship focused, 7-12 th grade building with great students and dedicated staff

Recreation Coordinator

📅 Position Dates: June 1 – October 15, 2026
Maple Lake Community Education is seeking an energetic, organized, and dependable Recreation Coordinator to assist with coordinating and supervising youth recreation programming throughout the summer and fall seasons. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with youth, families, coaches, and community members while helping create fun, engaging, and organized recreation opportunities.
Position Overview
The Recreation Coordinator will assist with overseeing day and evening recreation programming, camps, activities, and special events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, leadership abilities, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Work Schedule
- Seasonal position running June 1 – October 15, 2026
- Approximately 125 hours of work
- Day and evening hours required
- Hours will vary based on programming and activity schedules
- Occasional weekend availability may be needed for events or tournaments Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise youth recreation camps and activities
- Assist with scheduling and organizing recreation programming
- Support coaches, instructors, and volunteers
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment for participants
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and community members
- Assist with equipment organization, set-up, and clean-up
- Help oversee attendance, program logistics, and participant needs
- Enforce program expectations and safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with Community Education staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth programs, recreation, or athletics preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and strong leadership skills
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work day and evening hours
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Successful completion of a background check required Compensation

Kidville – Maple Lake Public Schools
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Work Schedule:
This position generally follows an 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM schedule; however, hours may vary depending on Kidville staffing needs. The position follows the school-year calendar, with potential summer hours available based on program needs and employee
availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that support children’s growth and development
- Adapt activities to meet the varying needs and abilities of children
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children by following program policies and procedures
- Actively supervise children at all times
- Support fellow staff members and assist with daily program responsibilities
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, coworkers, and community members
- Assist with staff scheduling and program organization
- Maintain accurate records, observations, and behavior documentation when necessary
- Help cover shifts or substitute as needed
- Collaborate with the Kidville Coordinator and Community Education Director
- Work cooperatively as part of a positive and supportive team
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment
- Support children during lunch and assist with toileting needs as needed
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
- Assist with tuition billing and record keeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Associate’s degree required
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Successful completion of a background check required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with children
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Salary is based on experience. Employees are paid semi-monthly and receive 24 paychecks annually. The payroll cycle runs from September 15 through August 30, with paydays occurring on the 15th and 30th of each month (or the previous business day if
those dates fall on a weekend or holiday). This schedule allows annual salary to be distributed evenly throughout the entire year.
