    JOB SUMMARY:  

           Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Community Education is responsible for

           directing, managing and providing leadership in the development and implementation of the school

           districts’s community services, community relations, community educational and recreational    

           programs.                            

                                                                                                                                 

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Plans, organizes and administers a broad program of community education including adult basic education and enrichment, GED, youth development and recreation, early childhood education, preschool and, Kidville childcare program. 

    Recruits, screens, interviews, selects and trains staff for all community education programs and activities. 

    Supervises staff of all community education programs and perform evaluations. 

    Administers the school district facility use and scheduling for all district and non-district events and activities.  Develops, recommends and implements policies, procedures and fees for facility use.  Communicates with custodial staff for building needs. 

    Administers community education programs in accordance with the state community education guidelines and school board policies. 

    Creates materials for local advertisements, prepares and publishes the Community Education Catalogs and contributes to the District Newsletters.  Effectively markets all community education programs via a variety of media. 

     

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENT:

           BA or BS is required.  MA in Administration with emphasis in Community Education preferred. 

           Other licenses will be considered.

           Valid Minnesota driver's license.

    Maple Lake Public Schools is seeking applicants for a .15 fte (6 hrs/week) Preschool teacher for the 2020-21 school year.  

    The position includes providing an appropriate Preschool environment and experiences for children to support their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.  Ideal candidates will have experience working with groups of young children, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, and teaching experience in developing, modifying and implementing curriculum and learning environments for young children.

    Qualifications:  Minnesota teaching license in one or more areas is required:  Pre-Kindergarten, Early Childhood, PreK - Grade 3, Birth - Grade 3 or Early Childhood Family Educator.

    Position title: Math Tutor – Minnesota Math Corps

    Join us as we head back to school! Maple Lake Elementary is looking for caring adults to serve with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps. You can help kids become successful in reading or math! You’ll work directly with students every school day, during school hours, August- June.

    Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay- at- home parents and retirees. With training, support from onsite coaches and evidence- based strategies, Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors are well- equipped to change lives. No previous teaching experience necessary!
