MLHS Parents:

We are already in the third week of the 2022-2023 school year!  It is hard to believe that October is just around the corner.

Parents of seniors

Please remember that senior pictures for the yearbook should be submitted to Mrs. Elsenpeter by October 1.  Please submit a digital copy of a head and shoulder shot.  Please use a simple background and no props. The picture can be emailed directly to Mrs. Elsenpeter at If you have questions regarding the requirements for the picture, please contact Mrs. Elsenpeter. If you are interested in purchasing a baby ad for $30 to have included in the yearbook, the deadline is November 1.  For additional senior information, please see Mrs. Durst’s webpage. Scroll to the bottom and view the “SENIOR INFO 2023” section.

Parents of juniors and seniors

Please see the attachment from Mrs. Sloneker to this email regarding the PSAT, College Fair, college visits, and other information.  If you have questions regarding this information, please contact Judy Sloneker at

Teacher webpages and Parent-Portal

If you are looking for ways to stay informed regarding your child’s coursework, check out our teacher webpages and Parent Portal. Teacher webpages include information regarding lesson plans, projects, etc.  Parent Portal is a great way to stay up-to-date on your child’s grades.  If you do not have access to Parent Portal, contact the high school office to get set up.

PE Clothes

The Phy Ed department asks you to remind your kids to bring home PE clothes and wash them on a regular basis.  Also, if your child uses an inhaler, please make sure the school nurse has been notified to ensure we have proper documentation in place.

School Attendance

Attendance at school is extremely important.  There is a direct correlation between absences and grades.  For a student to do well academically, they must be present at school!  Maple Lake High School works closely with the Wright County Attorney’s Office and the Wright County Truancy Diversion Program.  Please see the attached letter from County Attorney, Brian Lutes, regarding the importance of school attendance.

If your child will be absent from school, please call the office at 320-963-3171 or use the JMC Family App to let us know.  Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

Ill Students

Students who do not feel well during the school day need to be assessed by the school nurse before being allowed to go home ill. If your child calls or texts you requesting to go home sick, please inform your child they need to see the school nurse.  If the nurse believes your child should be sent home, we will contact you to let you know.

Contact Information

If you move, change your phone number, or change your email during the course of the school year, please let the high school office know so we can update our records.  Having accurate contact information is imperative for our school.

Homecoming 2022

Homecoming will take place Sept. 25 - Oct. 1!  The student council is working hard to make and finalize plans for this year’s activities.  They strive to make Homecoming fun and exciting for our school community.  Please check out the attached information regarding the schedule of Homecoming activities.
