FROM THE COUNSELOR’S CORNER

Senior parents and students:

The 2023 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) site opened on October 1!  Any student planning to attend a post-secondary institution in the 2023-24 school year should fill out the FAFSA.  Many scholarships require FAFSA information as well as college admission departments.

October is Minnesota Goes To College Month (formerly College Knowledge Month).  During the month many colleges are offering free applications so it is a good time to get them done!  Attached is a list of colleges with this offer!  Remember – after applying students need to notify Mrs. Sloneker so that the transcripts can be sent!

Please remind seniors to sign up for the Class of 2023 google classroom site.  I list scholarships, college visits, and all important information on this site!  The code is titj4cx

Junior parents and students:

The PSAT/NMSQT (Pre SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be offered at Maple Lake High School on Wednesday, October 12.  Information was sent previously indicating a September 28 deadline to register.  There are still tests available on a first come-first served basis.  A permission form is attached.

Please remind juniors to sign up for the Class of 2024 google classroom site.  I list scholarships, college visits, and all important information on this site!  The code is lhn4h4w
